The Charismatic Episcopal Church exists to make visible the Kingdom of God to the nations of the world; to bring the rich sacramental and liturgical life of the early church to searching evangelicals and charismatics; to carry the power of Pentecost to our brothers and sisters in the historic churches; and finally, to provide a home for all Christians who seek a liturgical-sacramental, evangelical, charismatic church and a foundation for their lives and gifts of ministry.

The Charismatic Episcopal Church is not and has never been affiliated with the Episcopal Church USA or the Anglican Communion.

Welcome Note from the Chairman, Bishop David R. Simpson

As chairman of the Host Commission, and on behalf of all our Bishops, it is my great joy to invite all the members of our communion to gather in holy convocation, July 30-August 1, 2008 in Orlando, Florida. The convocation will commence on Wednesday evening with a glorious celebration of the Holy Eucharist, during which our new Patriarch, The Most Reverend Craig Bates, will be formally enthroned.

Thursday and Friday mornings will feature Dr. Simon Chan as our guest speaker. His topic is the theme of the convocation, “The Vision: Convergence Worship and Theology.” With the election of a new Patriarch, it is timely for us to recast the vision entrusted to us by God when He raised up the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church. Each afternoon there will be a variety of workshops offered, and each day will conclude with a service of worship during which the new Patriarch will speak.

All convocation activities will take place at the Wyndham Orlando Resort Hotel on International Drive. It is strongly requested and recommended that all attendees register at the hotel for the duration of the convocation. At such a time as this it is our hope that we will not only strengthen our vision, but also our relationships. The Wyndham is beautifully designed to facilitate informal fellowship both indoors and outdoors. For your convenience, room accommodations are available to registrants at the convocation rate three days before and after the convocation.

This is an historic event in the life of the ICCEC. May it be an historic event in your life as well. Join us in Orlando and celebrate whatGod is doing in our midst to advance His Kingdom upon the earth.

The Most Reverend David R. Simpson, Chairman
2008 International Convocation Commission
