Officially inaugurated on June 26, 1992, The International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church seeks to embrace the fullness of historic Christianity. Often divided into evangelical, charismatic and sacramental traditions, we believe God is reconverging these three streams of Christianity into one great river of God.

Though the term Episcopal is used by several other denominational bodies, i.e. The Reformed Episcopal Church, The African Methodist Episcopal Church, and The Episcopal Church in the United States of America, we are not associated with any of them, other than as fellow Christians within the larger Body of Christ.

The word itself simply means “bishop” or “overseer,” and refers to the place of bishops within the life of The Charismatic Episcopal Church. Though charismatic, we affirm the importance of the apostolic tradition, embodied in the office of the bishop.

The apostolic authority with whom we serve, and to whom we are accountable, is The Most Reverend Dale Howard, Archbishop of the Southeast Province, resident at The Cathedral Church of the Messiah in Jacksonville, Florida.
